Kiel Institute for the World Economy

The Kiel Institute for the World Economy (German: Institut für Weltwirtschaft an der Universität Kiel, abbreviated IfW) is located in Kiel, Germany, and one of the leading economic research institutes in Germany. It is engaged in research and consulting with regard to global economic affairs, economic education and documentation. It is an independent, non-profit academic institution affiliated with the University of Kiel.

Report on the German economy

The IfW is one of the leading economic research institutes in Germany that, twice a year (in Spring and Autumn), submit a joint report on the state of the German economy, the so-called Gemeinschaftsdiagnose (joint diagnosis).[1]

The Global Economic Symposium (GES)

Jointly with the Ministry of Science, Economics and Transport of the State of Schleswig-Holstein the Kiel Institute for the World Economy organises the Global Economic Symposium.
